The inaugural Formula One's first ever day-night race took place on November 1, 2009 at Yas Marina Circuit.The twenty-one corners twist circuit through the man-made island off the Abu Dhabi coast was designed by Hermann Tilke.Floodlights were switched on from the start of the event to ensure a seamless transition from daylight to darkness.
